A Fresh Start... Again

Since my last post we have moved again, got a new car, new jobs, and a new career!

I enrolled in UCMT in August and and will graduate July 31, 2011. I am attending the night class so I can work. I absolutely LOVE bodywork and am so blessed to have found my calling in life! after I graduate I plan to open a small business. Guess I need to start thinking of business names. I'm also playing around with the idea of going to the Esthetician course that Steiner Education also offers. Dually licensed and making people relaxed and beautiful :]

I am working full time at APX Alarm in tech support and LOVE it. I got a promotion recently that allows me to walk around and answer questions as well as work with my supervisor to train my team members. I love making a difference as well as learning so much about electrical and HVAC systems. oh and of course you should get an apx system. you get monitoring half off thru me :]

We have moved to north Orem into a 2 bedroom townhouse. SO freakin cute! Also it's number 89. It's my birth year so it was obviously a sign. (I have a resolution to be proud of my age and stop wishing I was older. So what if I'm only 21) We originally went to the complex to look at the one bedroom apartments and just looked at this one for fun. I fell in love with it. Plus the extra bedroom is so nice to have for massages or whatever else may come up :P

We got rid of the truck (hallelujah) and got (leased) a 2011 Mazda 3. We not only have a sexier, safer car, but the cash back we got from the trade in bought me a washer and drier!! Basically the best present ever. I told Taylor I'd sleep on the floor if I could wash my clothes in my own home! Luckily his parents are letting us use his old bed set from high school. yep, they're still the best in-laws in the world :]

Taylor goes by Michael at work. Still trips me out when people talk about 'mike' and it's my husband. I'm just going to start calling him michael-taylor. or maybe 'the other russo.'

I REALLY want to go see 'Tangled'! I've heard it's so cute.

now everyone GO GET A MASSAGE. it's good for you :]

love yall

UCMT

Moving out in a week has put us in a crossroads. Financial for both and job/career for me.

I love learning, but I have never enjoyed classroom settings. I have poor grades because I so easily put other priorities and stresses before my school work. Yesterday I visited the utah college of massage therapy. I don't get excited about things very often, but when I do it usually means something. I just had a wonderful feeling about it, not to mention the fact that I will have a marketable skill and one I can utilize while raising kids. I want to graduate BYU so we're still working out timing on things.

I also need a full time job if I am going to temporarily drop out of BYU so that we have health coverage. I love Nu Skin so I will keep crossing my fingers that something opens up. I applied a couple places around orem too so we'll see what happens.

With our new apartment comes a new budget. Life is going to be tough for awhile and adjustments will have to be made.

All in all I'm excited for the changes. We've still got a lot to figure out and a lot of numbers to crunch but I know we'll come out just fine :]

I did my 7 day trial at 24hour fitness. I love it. I think that is an essential thing for me at this point in my life. especially since this is the first time I have actually loved going to a gym! Zumba is absolutely my favorite. kicks my butt. Excited to get in shape :]

Mom sent me a package! I still love those. especially when it is full of skirts that I so terribly needed!

movie of the week: kick-ass. this isn't a fair review because I didn't see it, but Taylor and his friends saw it last night and proclaimed it to be the most purely entertaining movie they'd seen since 300. This movie is not for the faint of heart, but if you liked 300, go see it!

RSL game tonight. watch it. read the blog.

a dream is a wish your heart makes

This week was interesting. The inlaws were in florida for sarah's cougarette performance at Nationals. Which they won! 8 years in a row. wow.

So we had the house to ourselves. I lived upstairs watching reality tv... models and fashion and cake decorating mostly. not a fan of the tru tv or e! tv types.

The beginning of the week I was sick. I broke a blood vessel in my eye as a result. The left side of my left eye is completely red. It's kind of scary. hopefully it won't take too long to go away. it's just spread larger so far :(

Yesterday we went to the RSL season opener against Seattle. It was a fun time. Completely packed, tho. Also the crowd was full of the older socialites instead of die hard fans. As a result the crowd was pretty quiet. It was a tie, but we should have won.

yesterday was also my half birthday. Yes, I am that young. Yes, my hubby and friends still tease me about not being 21 yet. Not that it's that big of a deal, but I have been denied entrance to a few venues :(

only two more weeks until I go back to school and we move to provo! I'm excited for the changes.

movie of the week: hot rod. so many giggles from the snl cast.

I want to go to culinary arts school. I also want to go to aesthetician school. I want to do something fun with my life. Graduating BYU next year. Maybe I'll get to go to another school after... a girl can dream can't she? at least dreams like this crowd out the baby cravings :P

11 months

Taylor and I have been married for 11 months. It feels longer but at the same time the time has flown.

I do not like reality tv, but I am obsessed with America's Next Top Model. Not really sure why. I guess the fact that they are fashion and beauty and not attention crazed sluts is a redeeming quality. But then again some of them are... at least they take a pretty picture

I realized recently that I have a tendency to take people for granted. I am making an effort to become friends with people I grew up with and didn't necessarily make an effort to get to know. It is a long process. But anything worthwhile takes time and effort.

the ongoing clean house project is slowly turning into packing and is definitely turning into 'get rid of half my crap because I don't need it.' I refuse to move only taking what I need and leaving the rest here. I am going to reduce my crap to only what I need first.

New perfume. Burberry Brit. Like it, need to get used to it. it's 'oriental floral.' Needed to upgrade my smell. I think I can pull it off. The internet said I'd like it. It's growing on me. Plus it was called Brit. You know I can't pass up things that sound like me :P

big day today, guess I should get off my butt

back to basics... er provo

It's official! we signed a year contract with University Studios apartments. I'm really excited that we are going to have our own place for the first time. even if it is 1/4 the size of where we're living now. But we know we're spoiled here and that it is definitely time to move on. Our new apt is literally across the street from BYU and 15 minutes closer to where I work! yay for saving gas and walking to class again :P I guess I'm going to have to get used to doing school work again too. I'm just excited to rearrange and decorate and make it my own :]

Mom, I know you read this (probably the only one too) so I just wanted to give you a shout out! You are a strong woman and you CAN exercise to be healthy and I CAN TOO. I love you and don't know what I would do without your support.

blockbuster wasn't a disappointment for the first time in a long time.
movie of the week: Old Dogs. SO funny and family friendly. thoroughly enjoyed it :]
also excited to watch Ong Bak 2 and Boondock Saints II and Ninja Assasin again :D
what can I say? we love ninjas :] we should take a MMA class. I would love that.

Anyways, getting ready for the move = getting rid of half of our crap!! I have 4 trash bags of clothes and 17 pairs of shoes for DI. Go me!! yes, I'll miss open spaces in our new apt but that'll just get me out of the house more often. Hopefully we will be able to spend more time with old friends. We have been pretty anti-social lately and it's taking a toll on my hubby.

I'll try to be better at this! I need to reconnect with myself and you internet dwellers.

Lovies!!! and thanks for stopping by, San Diego

all about candles

hello friends

good new is that I got the job at NuSkin. Bad news is the only shift they could offer me is 8-2pm so I had to quit Infotrax. Because I start on monday with training and couldn't give Infotrax two weeks notice I can never work there again, which is sad. It's a nice job to be able to fall back on. I don't really know much about my new job but I'm sure the 60 hours of training will answer ALL of my questions. yay for $3 more an hour.

I'm not in school this semester so I get to spend the amount of time I always want to in working out, cleaning, and shopping (for milk, of course). I also get to shop for business casual clothing. No more wearing Uggs and hoodies to work for me :( Also off carbonated drinks. powerade is my new drink of choice. in addition to lots of water, of course.

annoyed that my laptop can't get on the internet at work. I actually only brought it to charge my ipod. treadmilling to laptop speakers just doesn't cut it. I'm working on a mix cd for nicole and realized that I don't have some good tunes. mostly want the internet so I can get on itunes store.

speaking of nicole, we went candle shopping yesterday. I can't stand my house not smelling good so I got more sandlewood vanilla wallflowers for the living room first. We then went to For Every Body outlet. Ohmystars they have every scent of candle you can think of! I bought a candle warmer/ wax melter thing but it doesn't work. It's way cute so I'll prob take it back so our room can smell like roses and nothing will catch fire! I brought my apricot tart candle to work today. helps with the construction and b.o. smells that still linger from the moving process.

I need a project that doesn't cost money and will keep me occupied. I want to scrapbook but I haven't even printed our wedding photos and scrapbooking is expensive. I want to learn to sew but without a direction to go with it I'll never do it. My house is a long work in progress. I guess I really shouldn't be thinking about a project when my house is still a mess!

Found our BYU married student ward and went on Sunday. It's definitely different but I'm excited to make friends and be around so many people in our same situation.

Taylor just brought me chinese food complete with my favorite cream cheese wantons! I just know he's trying to sabotage my diet grrr. I love noodles so much. in anything. with anything. noodles & co is my favorite place to eat. Not taylor's tho so I usually just go with nicole :]

I really look up to Lady GaGa. She is a true artist. what you see is who she really is. I have always thought of myself as an artist. She inspires me to find who I am and to make true art. I also just kind of want to wear awesome clothes. She is so heavily inspired by David Bowie and Andy Warhol. I need to find more inspiration. Audrey Hepburn would be one, of course :] I love art and I love what she is doing for the world with her glamrock futurepop.

anywho, movie of the week: the hangover. so dang funny.
album of the week: glee vol 2.

lovies!
