onward and upward

As of Friday Taylor and I made a pact not to eat fast food or soda for the next two weeks. It's been good so far, although we had to decline a dinner date because of it. Part of the reason is that the food is unhealthy and part because we spent way too much money on it. Yes, even healthy fast food (Zupas) is off limits for the next two weeks :( I'd better get a good soup recipe or something to tide me over. I also hopped back on the treadmill. I was consistent for a good three weeks or so but then I ran out of time/energy.

I am achey all the time and I sleep all the time. I guess it's just part of growing up. Maybe I'll get swine flu. That'd be an easy way to lose 10 pounds :P

I got a higher dose of my crazy pills. Doc says this should solve ALL of my problems. I'm excited. for now it just makes me hyper sensitive.

Yesterday I cleaned and did four loads of laundry and made Taylor lunch. I felt accomplished as a wife :]

Today we are going to a married ward. We're pretty much tired of the family ward. Neither of us can relate to anyone there. Our calling is to babysit 14 year olds that don't want to be there anyway. I hope this new ward gives us better perspective.

Movie of the week: Michael Jackson's This Is It. It was actually very good. It was just footage of him rehersing for his upcoming tour and elements of his show. It really shows his character. He would always emphasize love whether criticizing or praising. It was also cool to see his collection of talented individuals. His guitarist is this amazingly talented and cute young Australian girl who is apparently Santana's prodigy. I recommend it to anyone who appreciates his legacy.

Song of the week: More by Bobby Darin. Malloree burned me a copy of The Legendary Bobby Darin in 9th grade and it was love at first listen. I haven't had a copy since I moved to Utah so I finally bought it off itunes last week. It really is the ultimate 'feel good' music. There will always be a special place in my heart for big band jazz.

lovies!!

  1. I know you guys will enjoy the married student ward. We didn't go to our ward today, so sorry if you tried out ours. Both of our grandmas aren't doing too well. They both fell. Mine is in a rehab center, and isn't really progressing. Adam's grandma might only have a couple more months to live :( That is why our families are in town, and why I didn't get back to while I was in Salt Lake. We were out to dinner with Adam's grandma and family.
