Staycation

Before our lovely stay in Park City, Me and Tay and his brother and wife went to the Icubus concert. I can't get over how amazing that concert was! not only was the performance perfect, but the music was genius and moving. I still can't get over the quality of music they produce for almost each genre of music/listener. all in all, I had a blast. We were in the pit infront of the stage, of course, so rocking out was all that much easier :]

Friday morning we drove to Park City (only 45 min away). It was so beautiful! It was weird seeing the ski runs as flat green spaces in the middle of trees on the mountains. We stayed at the resort hotel which was so nice! six hot tubs were also a plus :] There was a roller coaster that you control- that was different. It was fun because you're not really strapped in or holding onto much. just rolling down a mountain! we also did the zip line down the mountain. it felt good to get cool air in your face. It was so hot! I actually had a hard time with it. My new meds make me dizzy plus the really thin air plus the heat made me not feel so great for a little bit. We started making some memories when we were riding the ski lift up to ride the Alpine Slide down when a freak rain storm hit. Super cold rain and hail mixed in! yes, we were on the ski lift at this time. My legs were blue and my purse got ruined. Taylor was just laughing while us girls shivered and whimpered. We were first in a mountain van down, though.

We brought rock band with us, so that was fun to rock out with his fam. I also got better at poker. I've been working on my poker face :] actually won a few hands! haha.

When we got to Park City us girls hit the outlet mall while the men took the grandkids fishing. It felt so good to shop! I got two cute tops, a sweater, some cute nike running shoes (to motivate myself off of my butt) and two bermuda shorts. Later we went back with the men folk to get cheap dress clothes. Taylor and I got Guess sunglasses (because mine broke in the swimming pool) and he got a spiffy hat and running shoes. It makes Taylor happy that I can't go crazy because I have a sucky credit card limit... haha

All in all it was a fun bonding experience with his fam. I enjoyed park city. The whole city is granola and has building laws. Everthing from Wal-mart to Burger King was dark red brick to blend. me and Taylor want to go granola. I even threw away my mini corn dogs as a first step! haha. We'll exercise eventually. This week is hectic because his cousin is getting married tomorrow and they are having their reception in his back yard- essentially out of our apartment. We've got a lot of cleaning to do...

so Taylor lost his wallet sunday. I knew it would show up because first of all, we didn't go far from home and second of all, this is Utah. So he goes ahead and cancells all of his cards and what happens? a nice lady found it in the Park and returned it. Even had the few dollars cash still in it! I told him- never underestimate the power of a good neighborhood haha!

We get to speak in church next sunday. We'll both be busy finding ways to subtley embarrass each other until then

lovies!

  1. Ha Ha! Wish I could be there for your talks! Those surprise mountain storms are wild, aren't they! I was in a canoe once in the middle of a river. No van to rescue us! Black and blue from the hail and the cold! Glad you had a fun family vacation!
