An intro-duck-tion to Taylor and Brittany

Well let's see... Taylor and Brittany met at the beginning of Fall semester 2008, the first week to be exact, and it was a... well... somewhat cliché yet... legit way of meeting. Legit for BYU at least. They are a success story of the Brigham Young University F.H.E. program. Since it was the first week of the semester their Bishop randomly assigned apartments together to be F.H.E. groups for that week. And they happened to be assigned together. It was only for one week though. Right after this first encounter Brittany had a somewhat bad day come to her. Her boyfriend of 5 months broke up with her and she was down about it. So while her roommates were attempting to console her, she kept saying "I just wanna see my FHE brothers!". So her roommate Nicole went with her to Taylor's apartment and there the first conversations took place.

At first Taylor didn't have much of a "romantic" interest in Brittany because she seemed to get along best with his roommate Bernt. But Bernt as he himself put it was, "too old" for her. Although she got a long best with Bernt at first Taylor found that Nicole and Brittany were quite fun to be around and grew to love and respect them as the best of friends. Brittany seemed to bring out a side of him he hadn't shown much in his pre-mission life and he liked it. But it took a while for him to realize that he was growing to really like her. He even took Katlin and Nicole (her roommates) out on dates before actually taking her out. He finaly realized that he was starting to like her a lot with an interesting situation. Brittany was a veteran hair dyer and was sporting a very sexy deep red hair color. This made Taylor want to dabble with red in his own hair. He convinced Brittany to dye his hair red but she wanted to go to the bridal fair before dying his hair. He had all day to kill so he suggested getting lunch and buying the hair dye first then Brit and Nicole could take him home afterwards. Brittany at that point suggested that Taylor go with them to the fair and they could pretend that they were engaged and get free stuff. Taylor had done this before in high school but he did not realize that this was an ironic foreshadowing of things to come. It got even more ironic after Taylor and Brittany went to his parents house after all was said and done. He and Brit told his dad about the experience pretending to be an engaged couple and he responded by saying, "be careful, you may end up getting married. Your mother and I did the same thing".

The next Thursday Nicole asked Brittany if she would date Taylor. This was the second time she had asked Brittany this question, the first time the answer being no. After answering the second time with a yes, Brittany hoped to see Taylor later that night. She did, and Taylor and Brittany confessed their affection for each other. The next night they had their first kiss. They were deeply love struck for the next two weeks. After those two weeks, however, Taylor realized that what he was feeling was a desire to commit to Brittany and it scared him. His usual relationship style was nothing close to what he felt and did for Brittany. The next week they were 'on a break' and deeply miserable. Taylor thought a lot about his life and his feelings for Brittany while she thought a lot about Taylor and how much she knew he was worth waiting for. The night Taylor and Brittany got back together they knew they were to spend eternity together. Although both scared, they began to let the idea of marriage sink deeper into their minds.

Brittany spent Thanksgiving at Taylor's house and bonded further with his family. Time she spent thinking about Taylor and her almost unexplainable desire to be with him forever. At this point Brittany had told her parents while Taylor made last minute plans to fly to Brittany's home town over Christmas break to meet her family. As Christmas breaks came around Brittany had told her family and her best friends that she is going to marry Taylor. Taylor didn't say anything until they were about officially engaged. This was probably because many people still didn't believe he was actually engaged even after he was.

The first week back at school was very eventful. Monday they went to the jewelers and Brittany chose a ring. Tuesday Taylor went with his parents and bought the diamond for it. Wednesday they picked a date to be married and called the Timpanogos Temple.Thursday Taylor picked up the ring and then Brittany up from work and drove her to Utah lake where they had their first date. He then proposed to her while kneeling in the snow, a perfectly romantic and simple production that will be a remembered forever. After changing their facebook statuses to 'engaged' it was official. The engagement was four months long and simly awful. They set about to plan a nice wedding that was simple while keeping personal flairs. Brittany very quickly realized that she was not planning the ideal 'Utah' wedding. This required compromises on both sides of the wedding party.

After two bridal showers and a bachelor party, they were ready to get married. Brittany had moved into the basement apartment after being kicked out of her BYU apartment. Moving all of their stuff into their future home definitely made the transition easier. Brittany seemed to be holding up well even when her mother came into town. It was not until Wednesday that she had her pre-wedding melt down. The day began with the news that their honeymoon cruise would be going to Canada instead of Mexico because of swine flu. The next day Brittany went through the temple for the first time and all of her anxiety was gone. They got through their wedding reception flawlessly and without stress later that night. The night before their wedding they spent opening presents. May 1st finally came and went smoothly. It can very honestly be called the happiest day of their lives until that point. Their happily ever after was set and a beautiful production was pulled off with the help of loving family and friends.

Throughout the process of the reception, the wedding, the pictures, and the luncheon, their were moments where tempers flared and tears flowed but in the end all was well with everyone and the only anxiety caused was what was writen on the back of Taylor's truck as he and Brittany left the luncheon. Not because of the words that were written but the horrible grammar that made people laugh at them on the freeway. The phrase is written "Honk if you're horny" not, "Honk if your horny".

The happy couple spent their first night in the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake and had some awesome room service, they recomend the new york style cheese cake for sure. Soon the next morning they went to the airport and flew to Long Beach were to stay overnight and wait for the cruise to set sail the next day. Durring their one night stay in long beach they decided to eat out for dinner and found a very small restauraunt where upon entering they were the only ones there. The waiter sat them and soon a small conversation started where the waiter said he had recently gotten engaged and how excited he was for Taylor and Brittany about the recent marriage. After getting their meals they commented on how good the food was and the waiter served two glasses of free champagne. There was a small nervousness that came over the couple as the waiter turned around in a hurry and asked if they were both 21. This made Taylor laugh a little on the inside as he noted that he was but Brittany was not, but he also told the waiter neither of them drank alcohol. embarassed a little, the waiter took the champagne and returned soon after with a free crepe. Taylor felt bad a little but hey, he got free food right?

The next day there was little to no problem as Taylor and Brittany were with the first group to board the ship. Since they boarded so early that they were unable to go to their room as it was not ready yet, so they spent most of the morning wandering and getting to know the ship. They soon discovered their vacationing style the next day as they slept in more than they ever would have at home. Some people vacation and try to pack in as many activities as possible. Taylor and Brittany are very... slow to move on vacation. The destinations turned out to be more fun than originally thought. Taylor loved Victoria more than any other destination due to the greenness of it all and Brittany seemed to like San Fransisco the most due to the warmer climate and the pretty colorful houses.

It all came to an end sooner than was wanted but it was welcomed with smiles as they left for Georgia for their second reception.
